MEET KATHERINE HEBERT
Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Perinatal Mental Health Specialist
Hello! My name is Katie and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) psychotherapist with ten years of experience providing therapeutic services in the Acadiana area. I specialize in perinatal mental health working primarily with women and families. My areas of focus is women's issues, infertility struggles, pregnancy support and preparation, postpartum depression and anxiety, grief and bereavement surrounding miscarriage and/or loss and birth trauma.
ABOUT ME
I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) and my master’s degree in Social Work at Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Social Work.
My belief is that there is not one therapeutic approach that works for everyone and it is important to draw from a multitude of treatment modalities to meet each person’s unique needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Solution-Focused are common approaches used in my daily work and areas where I have specialized training.
I am just a mom set out on a mission to help other moms. It is important to know you are not alone in your struggles. My clients are the experts of their own lives and I feel privileged to walk alongside them during their journey of self-exploration and self-compassion.
